Central to her practice is the belief that the power dynamics present in our relationships reflect those that sustain broad systems of injustice. Any meaningful change, therefore, must involve intervention in the inter- and intra-personal realm.
 As a facilitator, Kei draws upon her experiences as a performance-maker, organiser, and coach to design and deliver bespoke experiential and participatory programmes. Kei aims to equip learners with skills to deepen their self-knowledge, engage constructively with difference and conflict, and lead from a place of empathy, reflexivity, and nuance. She has worked with a wide range of learners - from secondary school students to senior civil servants, private sector experts to artists.As a coach, Kei supports people to ‘clear the fog’ and see what is truly most important to them so that they can consistently spend their time and energy on what matters most. 


Kei’s coaching practice is informed by her training in both Ontological Coaching and somatic modalities like Systemic Embodied Coaching, Family Constellations and Social Presencing Theater. She supports clients to use their intellectual, emotional, intuitive and embodied knowledge as they put their own wisdom into action. She is a graduate from the Academy of Coaching Excellence and is accredited as a Professional Certified Coach by the International Coaching Federation.


Kei’s creative practice takes on various forms - 


 from performance to music to the written word. She is developing a solo performance under the direction of Thomas Richards as an artist-in-residence with&#38;nbsp; Theatre No Theatre, and is a co-lead and editor-in-chief of Brack, a Singapore-based art collective and platform for socially-engaged art.


 Kei graduated Magna Cum Laude as part of the inaugural class at Yale-NUS College and was a scholar at the Waterford Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa.&#38;nbsp;


 Kei is embedded in and sustained by a web of kin who are usually located in Singapore, the UK, Italy, Eswatini, and various parts of the USA. All that she does emerges from processes of dialogue with friends.

“Chemistry" is important to consider when working with a coach. You'll see if we “click" during our free discovery session, and this will also be a chance to confirm that our values align. I am committed to social justice and anti-oppression, and am committed to serving clients of any race, ethnicity, ability, class, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.

I’m proud to be certified by the Academy for Coaching Excellence, a rigorous training school accredited by the International Coaching Federation.
I'm always happy to share referrals to other excellent coaches in my network if that would better serve you.

	Investment
I stand for a world in which everyone is supported and no one is left out, and my pricing reflects that vision. The fee for 2 sessions per month (55 minutes per session) is based on my intention to serve a diversity of economic situations and gives more value than your money is worth. With that in mind, I ask that you select a tier that is an authentic stretch but not a hardship for you.
The cost for 12 sessions over 6 months is:
☼&#38;nbsp;$200/month if it's a stretch to be investing☼ $350/month if you're living comfortably☼ $500/month if you're flourishing financially
I also offer a scholarship rate on an individual basis.

	In her facilitation, she draws upon her experiences as a performance-maker, organiser, and coach to design and deliver experiential and participatory programmes. Her favourite programmes are collaboratively designed and delivered.

Laying the Table Bare (2021)

Laying the Table Bare is the latest iteration To Gathering,&#38;nbsp;an ongoing series of experimentations and research-workshops being conducted by Brack, exploring acts of gathering and radical hospitality amidst conflict and disruption. It was performed as part of the Singapore Festival of the Arts 2021.&#38;nbsp;Composed around the origin and operations of Warung Ijo, an Indonesian vegetarian eatery in Singapore, the work unfolds in two parts: a physical installation at the eatery, and a digital lunch gathering with provided food. How do foods get to our tables – what networks and labours enable their arrival? When lockdowns restrict access to overseas produce, how are substitutes chosen and procured? In running a vegetarian eatery, what happens when principles meet pragmatism?

How is the impossibility of gathering in these exceptional times made manifest through the attempt of executing a simple act, the sharing of a meal? What lies within the host’s realm of control – and what lies beyond? &#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp; 

Join us for a meal. Piled onto the plate in front of you are layered stories, layered labour, layered opportunities and constraints. Take a bite, what do you taste? Bite into the obscurity, chew on it. Laying the Table Bare is an opportunity for honest storytelling, a chance to lay the table bare.

You are the host now: 
On gathering in digital space (2020-2021)

You are the host now: On gathering in digital space is an&#38;nbsp;an online collaborative research project funded by&#38;nbsp;Live Art Development Agency (UK) as part of their Online Collaborative Residencies.&#38;nbsp;Jemima Yong is from Sarawak (Malaysia), but lives in London. Kei Franklin is from New Mexico (USA), but lives in Singapore. We met in eSwatini and have collaborated artistically there, in London, and in Singapore. As such, we are not strangers to video conferencing, and know well the moment when time differences and vast physical space collapse into the 2-dimensional digital realm of simultaneous closeness and distance.

As COVID-19 renders physical intimacy all the more improbable, we ask the question: How can hospitality be practised on digital platforms? What does it now mean to welcome guests into your space? What constitutes ‘your space’? What social cues and etiquette are appropriate for the digital sphere – how do we develop, learn, teach and normalise them?

Our hypothesis is that – through leaning into performativity, articulating the essence of ‘the ideal host’, embracing abstraction, foregrounding artifice, and moving away from the mimesis of face-to-face interaction – we may inch our way closer to hosting a energising and nourishing online gathering.

To Gathering (2020 &#124; Ongoing)

To Gathering is an ongoing series of experimentations and research-workshops being conducted by Brack, exploring acts of gathering and radical hospitality amidst conflict and disruption. This project explores questions that are integral to our interdisciplinary and collaborative practice. How do individuals come together to build a world? How do we work toward a common vision while embracing plurality? How do we exercise choice and agency, while allowing others to do the same? What role do consent, negotiation, faith, and surrender play in acts of collective decision making?We are interested in notions of co-creation and collaborative play, which are not only constructive but also restorative and even potentially transformative, seeking common ground and empathy through engaging deeply with our differences. Our To Gathering series comprises multiple explorations including Worldbuilding and Making of a Meal.&#38;nbsp;I serve as Brack’s Editor-in-Chief and one of the core team members developing these research workshops.

TOMORROW’S ISLANDS (2019)

Tomorrow’s Islands is an installation-performance about movement, connection, and attention. Using land reclamation as a subject, the work treats the migration and compaction of sand as a metaphor for the displacement and reconstitution of community, reflecting on the potential and challenges of communality amidst congregation. How, if at all, does physical proximity translate into emotional connection? How does a place become a home? What risks do we take in being vulnerable? And when coming together is too difficult, what possibilities for solitude remain?World acclaimed smart-city Songdo (South Korea) is built atop what was once deep-sea sand, over former coastal tidelands. Soil from Cambodian deltas comprises Jurong Island - Singapore’s largest oil refinery. How does Cambodian soil become Singaporean? Who decides? With power and information asymmetries abound, what might ‘productive protest’ look like? Tomorrow’s Islands explores acts of departing and arriving – what it means to carve out a space, and what it means to come together.

Matter-of-Food (2019)

Matter-of-Food is a frank conversation about the state of things. Each day we are inundated with images of polluted waters, melting ice-caps, and mountains of plastic waste. But for many of us, these issues feel abstract, overwhelming, or irrelevant to our daily lives.

In Matter-of-Food, the audience is invited to commune over a candid conversation and a simple meal. As we share our own snippets and stories, we endeavour to deepen our collective understanding of how consumption patterns, transnational waste management systems, and our current climate crisis relate back to the food on our plates.
Matter-of-Food was commissioned by Ayer Ayer Project and premiered at Asia Dive Expo 2019.&#38;nbsp;
